Thanks much mudd1...taking the battery out for 10 minutes or more definitely seems to make a difference, as if the Vibez and/or the battery need some time to reset or something.
I'm not up and running yet. I think I have the problem of the Vibez battery having been drained to empty while being connected overnight to a PC that was rebooted several times after the Vibez was connected to it. Now, whether plugged into my PC or an AC-USB charger, the screen is blank...no large scrolling battery symbol. After leaving it plugged in overnight on an AC charger, it still won't boot, nothing more than three quick screen flashes...I'm beginning to wonder if the battery is gone to the point that the charging circuit is not recognizing being plugged into power. Would anyone know if that might be the situation, or if that even makes sense?
Where I am at the moment is having used your "leave out the battery" technique, I next plugged the Vibez into the AC charger at which point the Vibez says, "Replace Cover"...when I first insert the battery, the screen flashes five times and goes dark...what I've done is to quickly slap in the battery and snap on the cover both before the screen stops flashing...could be my imagination (or desperation) but I think this makes a difference.
It seemed to almost boot one time earlier today...it briefly flashed the reddish Vibez logo screen...so as tempting as it is to keep fiddling with it, I think I'm going to let it sit overnight again. Another possible indication that the battery is shot is that when plugged into the charger with battery out and cover on, the large scrolling battery icon does appear.
If that doesn't work, I've noticed three contacts in an old LG mobile phone charger line up well physically with the contacts on the Vibez battery. The batteries are similar in capacity. A long shot...
