Subject: Sansa Clip! (56k warning)
Swung by Best Buy this morning (oh, who am I kidding, I waited in line like an idiot) and picked up a 2 Gb Sansa Clip for $35. So far I'm pretty impressed with it and I think it'll make a great player to run and exercise with that isn't too bulky and that I won't really worry about messing up. The sound quality is pretty good and it feels sturdy enough. Now it's time to go get some sleep!

Really, the only thing I don't like thus far is that I can't find a way to insert a song into the now playing list, or add a song that isn't playing to the "On the go" playlist, or whatever it is. But they have already pushed out a firmware update to allow MSC access as default, as well as an ungodly number of languages. Hopefully we'll see rockbox on this at some point in the future!

Edit: I was just re-reading a review of the player, and came across this gem
The EQ is responsive, but it cuts frequencies instead of boosting them.
As we all know from Flatty's 5 Band Parametric EQ tutorial, this is good because it keeps the player from clipping. Looks like someone really did their audio homework on this one, folks.

Still loving mine. The sound and the battery life are killer. Also, there may be some work done on getting Rockbox onto it soon :).

Actually, the Clip seems pretty starved for memory, so at best you'll get a stripped-down Rockbox.
