This firmware upgrade is made mainly for Vibez F yes? If yes does it meen that Vibez F will be similiar design to Vibez? Anyone knows when TrekStor want to release this player? I'm asking because I'm going to buy iAudio i7 and if Vibez F will come soon then I will chose Vibez F - for me flash is better than 1" HDD (potential damage and no fw upgrade was reasons for selling my 12 GB version - now everything is perfect - flash + new firmware - for me it's going to best player on market)

This firmware upgrade is for the currently released vibez as far as I'm aware. We have all installed it on our vibez (whether that be the 8gig or 12gig harddisk version), I don't think anybody in this forum has the flash version.

Defector, what are the chances of video playback (xvid or MP4, 15fps would do) , i ask because the specs for the sigmatel say its possible. I know its a small screen but my Family Guy addiction would be further fueled by that addition!

I doubt that TrekStor would want to put the effort in for video playback on the vibez given its screen size and how well it'd playback movies.

I'm Gigidy sorry about Gigidy that! Gigidy.

Is there a chance of having replaygain support with this player?

I think this would be a nice thing to have but I wonder how many people would use it? Maybe you could start a poll.

Maybe we already have ReplayGain support (for mp3 tracks at least)?  http://www.riovolution.org/post/11726 :)  Nevermind.  Vote Yes for ReplayGain.

Thank you for releasing the new beta firmware :)

I love the new handling with the music library (enqueue mp3 files to active queue). 5 weeks ago I wrote to trekstor support and asked for a such function and now it`s implemented :)
The one-hand-lock-ability is also great.

I've got one more suggestion: I would like to decide whether I want to charge the battery or not. It`s not so greate that every time I plug my vibez it start to charge. It's not so good for the lifetimy of the battery.

So I propose to add a demand on the vibez display when it gets plugged.
Alternatively I would appreciate a new menu item "do not charge" in Transfer Mode menu.

Btw: I noticed that if you are not using english as language on the vibez the "features" menu does only have the entries "stopwatch, "Image Viewer" and "Maintenance". -> there is no "Sudoku",  no "Picture Jumble" and no "Text Viewer".

These changes are listed as English only:

The word from those that know is that this will not cut down the lifetime of the battery.

Hello all,
Thanks trekstor and thanks defector for this new firmware and the provided support!
As it's a beta, I will try to report some "bug".
This morning, I was not really awake and I did the tap tap trick on my vibez (instead of pressing the power button). And this switched my vibez on! Is it a bug or a feature?

Yesterday, I switched it on normally, started a music and decided to try the sudoku game. After having selected start new game, the vibez froze (music still playing) and I have not been able to do anything on the vibez until I removed my battery (1h later because I was on my way to work). I played sudoku today without any problem.

Already reported, the headphone dection works only if:
- (1) play/pause is allowed (while locked)
- (2) vibez is unlocked
(1) ==> seems a little bit weird because the vibez has to be unlocked

Anyway, this new firmware is great, especially the tap tap function!
Thanks again :)

Possible Spoken Word Filter bug.

This morning I preemptively created a new SWF that I knew would have no matches, yet.  I then downloaded a podcast mp3 file from the internet and manually set the genre tag on it to match my filter (using the file properties in Windows Explorer [WinXP MCE SP2]).  After I transferred the file to the vibez, the SWF did not pick it up.  After confirming that the genre I was filtering on was actually appearing under Music Library -> Genres, I deleted and recreated the filter.  After this, the SWF successfully picked it up.

I've only done this once so far, so I don't know if it's consistently reproducible.

Subject: Rotary popup mistakes
First a question for the other users out there, then perhaps a proposed firmware change.
I often make the mistake of enabling the popup to alter something (volume or seek normally) and go to switch mode I'm altering, only to be too slow and suddenly skip the current song to the start or end. In fact on a bad day I can do this so many times when I'm walking along I just leave the freaking thing alone.

Q.Does anybody else find that they frequently make a mistake while using the popup mode and interrupt their music?

I request the time out on the pop up can be configured to close: "Only on center button" "After 2" "After 5". Or something like that. I think a longer delay will decrease the frequency of mistakes but they will still occur, having it pop down only after center push would be an improvement I think.

Thoughts?

@sdp: I also think a longer popup would be a good thing.
