I saw the lag with all Ogg tracks.
Exactly, I don't see any difference between using for example ogg files converted by original Ogg Vorbis or aoTuV codec - menu still lagging. I'll check it once more with all file types which I sometimes use, but at present ogg playback is the most annoying thing.

Of course I can upload some files if it would be helpful.

Bug: Yesterday morning I saw it say "Checking Disk" when I turned it on.  Just now I'm noticing that date and time have been reset.  It currently thinks it's 2:15 AM on January 15, 2002.

This may not be specific to v1.11 as I've seen this one or twice before on the vibez and Karma.

Yeah, I didn't put the 2 together, but my settings went wonky after it said "Checking Disk" after turning it on as well. My date was reset to be August 11, 2021.

- The full screen display is almost perfect.  I'm thinking the track title should probably be displayed in a corner of the screen, rather than left-justified, centered vertically.  Or maybe it shouldn't appear at all?  This is purely aesthetics, and others may disagree.

How'd you get to that full screen view?

From the main screen, tap the center button twice.

Subject: upgrade process was far too quick and painless?
Quote by RubenNYC on 2007-11-21, 11:44:
Ok, I couldn't wait.  A couple of quick observations after spending all of about 20 minutes with 1.11:

- The upgrade process was far too quick and painless.  My brain wasn't ready for that.  :P
---snip---

A question about this upgrade process you have all been through. In the release notes it states "Format and reset to factory defaults" and yet some of you have posted comments about your settings being changed after upgrade (reads like you didn't reset and expect to lose all settings).
Have you all Formatted and reset, or can that be avoided?

Cheers

In my case I left this option unmarked (you can choose during updating operation to format and reset player to factory defaults or not) and only update the firmware.
But I also reported that some people (from polish forum mp3store) had problem with it...

That option was recommended for downgrades.  From the time I launched the upgrader, it took just a few seconds to complete.

My date & time haven't reset, but I left the fully charged, just flashed player plugged into the computer for an hour or so and it shut itself down completely. (Fired up a windows box to flash it *grumble*, then plugged it into my Linux box as a mass storage device and left it sat there doing nothing). Had to open it up and hit the little reset button to wake it up - the first time I've ever needed to do this. I bought the Vibez as soon as it officially arrived in the UK, so it's been a while.

All okay since though, including transferring 2gb+ of music onto it in one go. Will see if I can get it to happen again.

- UPDATE SESSION on a HOT BUTTON! Thank you SOOOO much!! Only thing I REALLY wanted.
- LOVE full screen. Screen full o' bubbles, YAY!
- TAP-TAP:Lock. VERY nice.

Aren't we a demanding bunch??
Every one says "thank you BUT....."

Now that we have ratings, I agree that we need PLAY BY RATINGS as well.
And I also like the new wheel behavior remembering where you left off. I like it the other way better, but I can see why doing it the way it is now makes it MUCH more user friendly. If you are seeking you don't want to ROLL-TAP every time. Doesn't matter to me though. I seek by pressing and usually do volume with the silver thing.

Re: pic puzzles... man I REALLY am awful at this. Is it really this hard??!!?? :D

I also did NOT reformat for the guy that asked.

Thank you Trekstor & Sigmatel.

Subject: Smooth Upgrade
Just ran the upgrade without any loss of settings, time resets or craziness.

One thing so far. The Append/Insert/Enqueue from "Music Library" feature fails to operate if you are sourcing music from folders as opposed to Artists, Albums or Tracks. Why does "folders" function different?

Had to change colour to see grid lines in SUDUKO.

I really would like to know if a date is already scheduled for the final release of this firmware!

Personally, I'm in no hurry.  I'd rather Defector take his time and get it right, i.e. stable.  This definitely reminds me of the old days on .com with Hugo (UKRE), Peter, Rob (Phrenzy), and the gang chiming in and incorporating our feedback into various releases.  Loving life again.

Thanks, Defector!!
