One thing I have noticed since updating my firmware is that a few of the settings have gone a bit wonky. For instance, I have had to reset my time and date twice because it got messed up somehow. Another thing was I had a picture set as my background, but the other day it was gone and replace by a plain blue background. Lastly, I had my track counter set to go up with total, but it somehow got switched to just count up.

I haven't had these things happen for a few days so I don't know if they were just one time anomalies.

I've not noticed a problem with the settings going awry between versions. Has anybody else had any problems? This is the kind of thing I really need to know.

Hi

It would be lovely to make it possible to Append/Insert/Enqueue items from Folders list also, not only from the Artist/Album/Track/Playlist database.

Also I have a suggestion - since the battery life isnt the greatest, It would be nice to have an option to turn off the screen entirely after specified amount of time.

I'm sorry for my english, It is not my native language :)

A fair point. I'll add that.

Actually this was looked into in the original vibez. Turning off the lcd doesn't save much power when you compare it with the power of spinning up a micro harddrive.

I didnt lose any settings here.

Defector do you think having a play by rating is possible?

- The menu lag when playing Ogg tracks is still there but noticably improved.
I'm really dissapointed with it. I think it was (not only for me ;) ) the one of the most wanted improvements in new firmware but it still doesn't work properly. IMO I can't call it really "noticeably improved".
But if you connect the Vibez to the computer in MTP mode and play music this bug disappear. What's still wrong with this fault?

Ok, that's the end of complainings. The rest of improvements are really step forward, so keep goin' that way!
Best regards. ;)

 Actually I let that comment pass. I have in fact done NOTHING to improve Ogg playback in this version (other than the bug fix).

Connecting to MTP gives you power of course and the player runs differently when connected as such.

If you can post a problem Ogg to me then I'll take another look but I think Peter has discussed this one to death.

DEFECTOR , an idea would be to add a play by rating to the DJ function, would make the rating system more useful.

Ditto!  And while you're in there tweaking RioDJ (I'll always call it RioDJ :) ), can we get Memory Lane and Forgotten Gems to include tracks where Last Played = "Never"?  Thx.

doomlordis, A DJ function to play by rating seems essential if you can rate on the player itself.

RubenNYC, I've just checked the code and AFAICT it already excludes non-played tracks. If you have reproducable steps that demonstrate it not working this way then get back to me.

Defector, I'm asking to have it include non-played tracks.  I'm guessing there are about 100 tracks on my vibez I have not played yet, and I have no idea which ones they are.  With Karma, I could spin up Memory Lane set to 1 year and listen to all those non-played tracks.  On the vibez I get "No tracks matching the selected criteria".

Thanks.

I may be hallucinating, but ISTR in 1.04 there was menu animation when scolling up and down among a set of menus.  This animation is not in 1.11, making the overall experience snappier, even when playing Ogg tracks.  So, thanks for that.

As far as providing a problem Ogg track, let me know where to upload one.  I saw the lag with all Ogg tracks.  It was annoying enough that I re-ripped to mp3 once I got the gaplessness working just right.

Great!  :-D

One more thing.. it bothers me and probably a lot of other Skin Bag users. The wheel is inaccessible and while navigating trough the menus/library we can't go up . The right and the middle button are generally doing the same thing. An option to go up using the middle or right button would be a nice solution.

Bug: Yesterday morning I saw it say "Checking Disk" when I turned it on.  Just now I'm noticing that date and time have been reset.  It currently thinks it's 2:15 AM on January 15, 2002.

This may not be specific to v1.11 as I've seen this one or twice before on the vibez and Karma.

Along the lines of what you're talking about the use of the MENU button in the menus has been discussed here.

Personally we'd like to change MENU to go up in the menus, after all left does the same function.

However the current usage is in the manual that's in 12 languages so...

... so the writers will have a perfect opportunity to update the manual to include this when they update it for all the wonderful features of v1.11.  ;)  Hell, the current manual doesn't even mention the "Cover Versions" menu in 1.04.
