Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   And the Karma playlist looks just like I remembered it.  All is right with the world again.  :D

Actually it's a little different. The Karma had separate 'add to' and 'delete from' menus for playlist editing. These have been replaced by the more advanced 'fine tune' menu.

Hey defector, I have a quick history question:  What exactly is the purpose of the "Add Track Memo" option in the History menu?

I added this so that I can flag tracks that I really love. I can then playback all tracks with memos and of course I could create a playlist with just these marked tracks in it.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!! I see it now.  Actually being able to change the order of tracks this way is a huge added bonus.  I like it!

Subject: Very minor upgrade bug upgrading to 1.19.
FYI,

I just noticed that my Quick Buttons got reset since the upgrade from 1.16 to 1.19.  I originally had them set to Now Playing (Menu) and Shuffle (Play/Pause).  They got reset to In Dock Switch (Menu) and Intro Scan (Play/Pause).

I changed them back to my original setings and all is good again.

Thanks.

ps.  Does anybody actually ever use Intro Scan????  :P

1.19 is great.  I love playing around with the playlisting, and the timer!  Quick question though,  is "scroll nudge" gone or am I just missing it?  I didn't seem to find it under the settings like before.

I can't find it either, nor can I scroll nudge anything. :(

Plugging in the USB cable (mass storage mode) while the vibez is just shutting down because you didn't enter the power-on protection code makes it freeze during the "Saving Settings" screen. At least it did one time for me. I don't really feel like reproducing to be honest. Latest beta firmware.

My bad. The history quick key was inserted pushing all the settings down by one.

Arse-biscuits! You are quite right that option did get turned off, rest assured it's back on now.

I wasn't even sure anyone used that feature! It'll reappear on the next release.

Yep, although improved (honest) pluggin in usb on the "saving settings" screen is to be avoided. Presumably though you were plugging in usb to dismiss the 'power-on protection' screen?  :-(

Edit: And I bet you're using forced-MSC mode?

I am, MTP stinks ;) And I wasn't intentionally trying to dismiss the power-on protection screen but yes, I think I was plugging in the cable while it was still visible. Now that I know it I will try to remember not to do it again :)

Hello everyone,

First off, I've read through the entire thread and would like to make some comments.

1 - Please put information in the thread title that 1.19 is the latest beta firmware.  I had to hunt through this thread just to find it.  A 'release date' for that firmware would also be good to have so we know how old it is.

2 - Thanks to 'defector' who is going above and beyond to help improve their products.  By reading through the thread I've noticed you've been the one releasing the new updated firmwares.  On your website if you could create one index page that links to all the other firmwares, and just put the latest firmware there as well as the date released it would help me with bookmarking easily.  ^_^

3 - I feel stupid for buying not just one but two spare batteries, which have been sitting unused in their packages for some time.  I used to have major issues with Ipod batteries going bad on me, plus wanted some spares for travel.  What do you guys recommend I do with them so that they don't become unusable?  I didn't realize the issues with Li-Ion batteries until after I read through a comment on this thread.  Is there any practical way I can keep the batteries in 'storage' for a long period of time (2+ years) without the batteries becoming unusable?

4 - What is the 'scroll nudge' feature?  Is it implemented in the latest 1.19 beta?  Do I have to downgrade to an older version to have it?  Is it really that necessary?

5 - I'm interested in purchasing the docking station, but I live in the USA, and don't want to order from a foreign company, I'd prefer Amazon or something but I didn't see it listed anywhere.  Any tips/advice?

6 - What types of playlists and audio formats does the latest firmware support?  Does it include the latest version of Ogg Vorbis codecs/playlists as well?

7 - Finally, when will we see this product in retail stores already?  Its about time we got rid of all the stupid 'pod people' bragging about how awesome their ipods look and shut them up for once.  The Vibez has a funny name but I'm pretty sure it would do well in this marketplace, ESPECIALLY with Ogg Vorbis support (the only reason I had even purchased this player in the first place, and how I found out about it).

Thank you all for any replies, as I know I ask lots of questions.  ^_^
