At this point a mysterious memory multiplication took place in the system. "Storage Details" tells me:
  - Capacity: 11.2GB
  - Used: 2.4GB
  - Free: 8.8GB
  - System: 32.3MB
  - Database: 594KB
@MicSan: I don't want to frighten you, but I received similar details on my first Vibez shortly before its disk deceased: in fact almost 90% used, but indicated as free. This happened running V1.04. Let's keep our fingers crossed that your disk is ok and the erroneous display reveals a system bug!

I think it's ok so far. My Vibez is in intensive use since 1 1/2 years now. So I just made a "fresh-up" to it: I formatted it by resetting to factory defaults and performed a disk check via PC (with no errors reported). After saving my music back to the disk now storage details show matching data.

Seems that the internally stored value had been messed up.

I enjoy my Vibez  :-) . BTW great work with the firmware so far. Completing the translation would make it perfect.

Subject: New spinning hourglass bug (using 1.16)
I've got a new bug that exists in 1.16 and may in previous versions.  It comes up very rarely but here are the repro steps:

First make sure you have at least one saved playlist.  Then, while playing back music...
- Click Menu -> Now Playing
- Click Menu -> Insert -> Playlist
- Browse to a playlist and hold the center button on a track.
- Select Insert

Result:  The display jumps back to the main now playing screen and the hourglass beings to spin and never stops.  When this happens, I'm able to turn the vibez off then back on again, then everything is back to normal.

Enjoy.  ;)

That's a great one! Defector, when you fixed this bug, please tell us what it was! :)

Edit: Switching the Vibez off doesn't rid me of the hourglass. Guess I'll have to wait until it really switches off. Thought I'd mention it though because it makes trying out this bug a little more time consuming than it might seem.

I can tell you that already. It was somebody else's fault.  ;-)

Great find RubenNYC, I give you permission to buy yourself a beer today.  :-D

May have always been there, Karma users?

Ok. So the real bug is here is that you shouldn't be able to bring up the 'Now Playing' popup menu under the 'Insert' menu. This bug has now been fixed.

Doesn't seem to be, holding either the RioStick or the wheel just inserts the track and then brings up the menu that would have come up had you done the hold on the menu you were on before going to the Now Playing menu.  So if you held the RioStick the track information popup would come up after inserting the track and if you held the wheel button then the Now Playing menu would come up again after the insertion.

One little thing that could be fixed: The volume should be reset to the startup volume on startup, not on shutdown. The difference it will make: When the vibez crashes (which happens frequently for many people, cf. the sudden death issue thread) and you reboot, the power-on protection sound (which is too loud anyway IMHO) will blow your head out because it is played with the old volume, not with the startup volume.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   And the Karma playlist looks just like I remembered it.  All is right with the world again.  :D

As soon as I can squeeze in some free time, I'll start hunting for more bugs.

I think the only thing left that would make me jump up and down is bi-directional synching of ratings and last played date with WMP11 (play count already syncs bidirectionally).

Thanks again, defector.  Excellent update.

Wow, seriously.  It makes me all the more sad how my Vibez has been behaving.

The functionality of the Vibez is fantastic;  I really hope the Flash Vibez deal goes as planned with as much work that has been put into these firmwares.  Now I finally get to see what all the fuss is about with the Karma playlisting  ;-)

Thanks for this Defector, and all else who contribute.

Hey defector, I have a quick history question:  What exactly is the purpose of the "Add Track Memo" option in the History menu?

Thanks.
