I really like the USB Power persistent backlight as well, it might be nice for the car if the screen brightness doesn't destroy my night vision!  If the dock mode is enabled, the player wakes the backlight on track change, which would be even better for the car.  Am I right in thinking that the normal player controls (wheel, buttons) are unchanged in dock mode?  Also, it seems that the backlight only wakes in dock mode if the player is actually IN the dock, or at least powered from the USB.  Is that right?  The battery life on the Vibez is so good that I don't usually plug in the power in the car, but if the caption backlight only engages when the player is USB powered, I might have to...

Indeed. Only the IR controls are changed in dock mode.

That's correct. It only does the 'wake-on-track-change' when in 'dock mode' and on USB power. This option is less strict though and will work when the vibez is connected via MTP.

Thank you for 1.16.

I just cought myself wandering about this "More of this..." option and exactly the same thing materializes.

Exact seek is too very useful, when listening to long podcasts, but still seeking in smaller steps would help a lot.

The 1.16 firmware seems to fix the bug when the Vibez would go into "connected" mode although being only on AC and would even stay in this mode when disconnected from the power supply. Great work! :)

Subject: All good
There haven't been many posts here for a while, so I assume that to signal everybody is, like me, having good experiences.
I've been using 1.16 since it came out and I have had nothing go wrong, nothing weird and nothing lacking.
I do find the seek enhancement (middle click and modify +-= value) to be quite confusing and I don't use it as much as I would like. I think I would prefer a simple modifiable preference % value.
i.e for all songs, seek n% with each wheel click. and I can change that value from %1-99% (other something similar)
Then keep the middle click for a "goto" value

I guess there isn't much activity in this thread because -- as you say -- everything's working fine and because the wishlist discussion is in its own thread now. Not that there's been much activity lately but I'm guessing again that the most important feature requests were all mentioned already so now we're sitting there to wait for new beta releases to appear :) Thanks for the great work again!

Not much of a bug there, thiough, if I understand it correctly. It hangs when you plug it in when it says SAVING SETTINGS? Don't do it then. FIXED. ;)

All I am waiting for is to make 1.16 not a BETA anymore. ;)

I have one more bug. The steps to reproduce are: Update a session (I do it with the quick button, dunno if that makes a difference) and immediately play something else (I played a playlist). The session that should have been saved is lost and sometimes the first track to be played after opening the session (ok it's probably useless anyway but well) is said to be broken although the file is ok and plays nicely when retrying.

The really bad thing is that don't know exactly how long you have to wait after saving a session and before playing something else.

Subject: Flickering screen with Screen Brightness set at 25%
Hi, Has anyone else noticed that the screen on their Vibez flickers with the Screen Brightness is set at (what I would approximate as) 25%? (I'm estimating based on the position of the marker.) I have not tried this setting prior to the 1.16 beta firmware. Also, this might be specific to my Vibez. The screen appears fine when I use the next higher and up settings for Screen Brightness.

To reproduce, I set the Screen Brightness to the lowest available step before Off (which is all of the way to the left).

Every now and then when having the vibez in my hand its display will flash and I'll hear a cracking noise. Then the whole device goes dead (that is neither connecting it nor pressing the power button have any effect) and not even a reset will revive it. Removing the battery and leaving it out of the vibez for a couple of minutes will do the reset the reset button didn't and the vibez boots as if nothing had happened after putting the battery back in place (as well as the back cover of course).

This might be the effect that was desribed as "static electricity" in conjunction with the dock. Only that it's not necessary to send the device in. Anyway, it'd be great if there was a way to prevent this or at least recover more easily. And why did this reset button never work for me anyway but a battery removal always does?
