And so a three hour podcast skips several minutes--EGAD! It really makes the Trekstor useless for that which I mostly use a player---podcasts. I still use it for my music, but I don't listen to that too often (1x or 2x/week). One of my family members does on the other Trekstor and still goes nuts with the skip length in the car, when trying a one-handed approach. But as stated, it is not that often one would reverse/FF through a song. Audible books or podcasts are another matter, however.

Here's hoping for a cure and thanks for the help!
I use mine for podcasts in the car as well. It can be very tricky to go back by the smallest amount the player will allow, which is often 30 seconds or more, but not hold the button down too short a time and go back to the beginning of the track instead.

See my post about this and peter's response on the wishlist thread.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the work around you're looking for, but for my Karma (I just got a Vibez and am not yet fully up to speed) I would use Goldwave (audio editing software) to split my books into 5 minute chunks.  It was simple to do and immensely useful for managing the position within the book.  It sounds like this would address the rewind issue.  But, it's just a possible work around, and it does require manual intervention.

Just discussing same item at the wishlist http://www.riovolution.org/post/12973. Goldwave is a handy program, but it's a lot work to split.

For a much better result I prefer this:www.AudiobookCutter.com

Thanks for pointing me to this thread. I tried to transfer all wishes which weren't bug reports to over there.

Now that I'm paying closer attention to it, ratings are not synching back from the vibez to WMP11.  :(  They're synching down just fine.

I ran through a cursory rating of most of my library in WMP11, thinking I'd just fine tune ratings for individual tracks as I see fit on the vibez and just have those changes synch back.  Well, it ain't working.

So, to recap:

The following data synch from WMP11 to the vibez in MTP mode:
- Ratings
- Playcounts
- But not Last Played Date

The following data synch from the vibez back up to WMP11 in MTP mode:
- Playcounts
- Last Played Date
- But not Ratings

It also looks like if you delete tracks from the vibez itself, WMP11 won't know it's been deleted.

I can well believe this. Presumably the ratings appear as expected in the vibez area of WMP11?

There's a lot of caching in the whole windoz/wmp11/mtp area. It seems to be quite difficult to persuade WMP11 to show updates sometimes.

This is partly the reason that I created the "rating log". Maybe some industrious person can create a program that'll take the log andupdate the raw files at source.

I honestly don't think that WMP11 actually uses any data from the vibez at all for the vibez display.  It seems to depend entirely on what it thinks the vibez has and displays data from the WMP library.

I wish it displayed actual data from the vibez.

As far as I can tell, there is no menu option to force WMP to re-scan the content on the vibez.  I was able to do that by disconnecting the vibez, ending the sync parternship, reconnecting the vibez and recreating the sync partnership.

Yeeeeha! :-)))

Now I know why I forgot to take my Vibez with me this weekend, I've never forgotten that before... :-D

I'll give it a shot next week as soon as I get back to the office and thus my Vibez. :-)

Very fortuitous since I just received my dock from B&H last night!  This is most appreciated.

Good question. I feel for you, Peregrine...When my second Vibez' headphone jack started going bad (my very first one shipped with a sticky scroll wheel), Amazon was out of stock...so I returned my defective unit and turned to Target.com for a new one. Two faulty Vibez' later (sticky scroll wheels on both of them -- common much?), Target was out of stock and B&H seemed to have the only remaining inventory. It appears I managed to get one of the last few available (with a smoothly-scrolling wheel, thank God). After my string of disappointments, I was ready to hold a funeral for Vibez players everywhere. At this point, it sorta feels like I'm carrying a ghost in my pocket.
