This just renewed my interest in the Vibez.  Just bought some Karma parts to fix up my machine.  Wife really wants to get me an ipod for xmas.

My couple of tries of the vibez at J&R were only so so.  Didn't like the wheel much.

I am however hopeful that development on the old Karma platform will continue.

What does full-screen for playback look like?  Pics please!
This is my signature, damn proud of it!

- The full screen display is almost perfect.  I'm thinking the track title should probably be displayed in a corner of the screen, rather than left-justified, centered vertically.  Or maybe it shouldn't appear at all?  This is purely aesthetics, and others may disagree.

The title should disappear after a few seconds or after one complete scroll. Does on my version!

EDIT: Found a minor bug:  The headphone detection does not pause the player if it's locked.  This is true even if the Play/Pause is set to "Allow" in Lock Setup.  Unlocked it works fine.

Keep 'em coming thanks!

DEFECTOR , an idea would be to add a play by rating to the DJ function, would make the rating system more useful.

Ditto!  And while you're in there tweaking RioDJ (I'll always call it RioDJ :) ), can we get Memory Lane and Forgotten Gems to include tracks where Last Played = "Never"?  Thx.

And so it does!  Nice!  I like what you did there.

For anyone wondering, here are a couple of screen shots that someone requested over at DAPReview:

Browse by Album Art (albums are displayed in alpha order by album title):

[Image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v181/rubennyc/vibez/AlbumArtBrowse.jpg]

Full Screen view in sequence:

1 - When you first change to Full Screen view, touch any controls or when a new track comes up you get this:

 [Image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v181/rubennyc/vibez/FullScreen1.jpg]

2 - After 4 seconds, the top and bottom status bars retract:

3 - After 10 seconds, the track title disappears leaving only the album cover or whatever background image you have selected:

Question for Defector:  I haven't tried out the Spoken Word Filter, yet, but can you explain a little bit how it's supposed to work?  Like, if a track's genre matches one of the filters, does it get excluded from any Rio DJ generated lists?  (That would be ideal.)

And a comment:  I'm not sure I like having the pop-up remember where you were last.  I've gotten used to having it always start with volume as in 1.04.  This also prevents unintentional seeks, ratings, brightness and pitchbend changes.  Would you consider changing it back?

Thanks.

Then ideal it is!

You add a genre to the SWF e.g. "Podcast".

Tracks that match a genre in the SWF are not considered as "music" but "spoken word". They will not appear anywhere other than under the "Spoken Word" menu in the music library. They will also be excluded from the "Rio DJ" auto generated items.

Funnily enough the pop-up remember thing wasn't my idea. I'll raise your concerns.

First of all thanks a lot for this new version. It has almost exactly the features that I missed in the last firmware.
I especially like the pop-up remember function! Please do not remove it, or a least you could maybe make it configurable.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the new firmware...many things in there that improve this already fantastic player.

I haven't had time to test out all the features, but I do love the Sudoku. Is it possible to place a grid on the game board to make alignment easier to visualize?

Also, is it possible to have more colour schemes than the existing 4? I find them to be a little on the dark side and thus make viewing diffucult.

Context menu in music library is great (although I wonder why a new long-press needs to be introduced when centre and right buttons do the same thing)

Restore last selected playback item is even better - can we get that as a quick button please?!

One-handed hold is another great useability improvement, thanks!

It's always tricky to please everyone of course! I'm a big fan of as much user configuration as possible.

There's already a grid on screen so I'm not sure what you mean. I accept that the numbers can be quite small in a 9 x 9 grid and I wonder if maybe the title should be removed so the grid can be made bigger?

Actually from the very beginning it's been possible for users to add their own schemes to the vibez. The format of the file was never released however but I will try to aid this process in the next release.
