Quote by MacDancer:
I suppose. But it's just so... manufactured. Tristania, Sirenia, Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes, Theatre of Tragedy, The Project Hate MCMXCIX, Draconian, and Within Temptation all have beautiful sopranos, and feel much more sincere to me. The music is also less simplistic.

That said, I did cry to My Immortal once, but it could've been practic'ly any song, given the circumstances. Honest.

Edit: I never listened to it by choice, either. The associations I had with it were more or less forced.

I tear up every time I hear "Desperado."

I love female voices and admit it, she's got a good one!
No ribbing here. Loved their first CD. Also love female vocals like that. Haven't really heard the second CD yet. Damn Wind-Up won't allow their releases on subscription music services. I'm almost in boycott mode with that label over it. I've emailed them a dozen times to release their music online. I think Napster offers some of their artists as buy only.

I really don't think $9.99 is TO much.
It's not too much to the average consumer but given what you're losing if you just pay a couple of dollars more, then I think it is. Remember you have to back up that purchase to a CD (at $0.50 a disc? Maybe less) so add that to the price. Now how much cheaper is it? I mean the economics just don't make sense to buy digital files yet. Until they get it right it just won't replace CDs on a large scale.

I stopped buying CDs for a few reasons, but the first and foremost is that I've gotten burned by buying CDs from artists that I like too many times (the first releases kicking so much ass and then the next one just sucking, and I'm out $15). Let's face it, if you buy a CD and it sucks, you're screwed. Completely, totally, and utterly screwed. Because of piracy and how easy it is to rip a CD these days, no CD store, Wal-mart, Best Buy, or any other store for that matter will take an opened CD back, no matter how bad it sucks. So now I download before I buy, and I never get screwed anymore, and also I can usually find music and artists online that I know I'll never find without preordering (which for a lot of stores around here costs more). All in all, downloading is more convenient and better for the consumer than buying CDs. Then again I only buy used, because I'm a cheap ass :-p

But does it run on Linux? Until it does, no iTunes for me...

not that I'd use iTunes even if it did run on Linux.
I don't think I can stay here anymore
