Subject: Needed threads from the "old site."
Much like the "invite people from riovolution.com" thread, I think it might be a good ideal to list threads we think need archiving.

I'll go first: rodger's recent battery thread.

We also need the instructions on how to fix your click wheel thread.  Because I broke mine.

I guess we can't just import the entire contents of the other site? Hasn't Riovolution already changed BBS backend entirely once? (The very oldest posts have messed-up quoting from the transfer.)

Frankly, I'd hate to see 1,149 occasionally reasonably informative posts of mine consigned to the waves. The one about Chroma fanboys as Mormonism, for instance...

Peter - I think the main problem is that we don't have access to the forum database unless someone can contact M, and, well that's turned nothing up so far. I admit, it would be a shame to lose all that wonderful data.

I don't know what the hosting arrangement is, but I'm sure the database can be backed up, if the company that does the .com hosting would be willing to do it.  I don't know about restoring it over here (since it would, again, depend on the hosting service).
