Subject: How do you 'type' a SPACE?
The make or break for a player for me is how well it performs on a vacation... I vacation a lot.
I just got back from Playa Del Carmen and overall I would say the Vibez did very well. Used it for about 9 hours total with all power settings turned low. Still had a quarter charge when I arrived home.
I do have a big gripe, though, and this is hopefully just my stupidity.
How do you 'type' a freaking SPACE on the Vibez 'keyboard'? I could not for the life of me figure this out. Kind of important, no? It auto names it for you (with spaces) but I don't want to use that name.
abd I'm still anoyed about SESSIONS (aka bookmarks). A) I would really like to set a HOT BUTTON to UPDATE. or at least to the 'window' that lets you choose one of the 3 options. B) Why is it under SETTINGS? There are no settings to set?!? It's only UPDATE, CREATE or DELETE. Should be quicker to get to. B is not a huge deal, but....
I did lose the sound in one channel on my headphones, but I think I crimped it when I fell asleep with it. This is why I don't buy $90 headphones.
Otherwise it performed wonderfully. Wore the lanyard on the beach. Great way to always know where it is and not get sand in it. Turned OFF the BLight on the beach because you can see the screen perfectly in intense sunlight with no BL. And I DO mean intense. It's actually easier to see on a sunny day then on a cloudy one. Even did a drop test to see if the hard drive would stop. It was only about 3 feet and onto the softest grass I ever stepped on, but it never stopped playing. Also I don't think the back looks bad. It's really scratched up, but somehow, with a quick polish, it still looks sexy. It's an awesome travel size compared to my old traveling companion, Uncle Karma. I also LOVE the 2 different ways to control volume. The hard button saved my ears. Tooling around in the menu, and the next song comes on (localization is OFF). It's a 320MP3 and the last was a 128. So it's to loud. No problem. No need to back out of the menus to get to VOL... just press the silver triangle. Very cool.
I wanted to get a pic of it in a beach chair, but my camera died.
NO PICS....
Also, what is WHEEL POP-UP for under hot buttons? I can't seem to get it to do anything. I was hoping it would allow you to pop the wheel screen up while it is locked, and make those adjustments that way. No joy.
/sidenote/ I saw about 25 people with DAP's on the trip. Only one iPod.. a tourist. All the locals had Sansa type players.

I rock a lawsuit when I'm going to court, a white suit when I'm getting divorced
A black suit at the funeral home, and my birthday suit when I'm home alone
