Subject: Vibez - No mysterious lockups
No mysterious lockups...  other than the bug regarding creating a playlist with the repeat option turned on.  But that's easily avoided.

I've had several DAP's and every one of them, even the Karma, locked up from time to time, and most (I think all) of them did it within the first day I had them.  And it wasn't from doing anything special, it would be doing just normal things I always did and couldn't really be explained.

The vibez has never just locked up on me.  It seems pretty solid.  Sure, its only been a week, but none of the others came close to making it this long without locking up.

I just wish it had a bigger capacity, but thats just a matter of time (and probably not even very much time as fast as technology is improving these days.)

I locked it up once, but that was straight up user error and not the Vibez fault. I accidentally left VOICE RECORDING running until the thing ran out of space and then it locked up trying to process it.

Yeah other than the playlist bug, I've had no issues with lockups.

frankly other than some hassle getting my .ogg files on it in a way that didn't suck, I'm very satisfied with the little bugger. It just works and sounds nice and doesn't hassle me.

If you do the registry hack to force MSC mode, then Media Monkey will put your ogg files on there with no problem.

I haven't found an easy way to get the album art (folder.jpg) to copy over, though.

You have to hack the reg to get MSC?  I totally missed that.

Yup. Peter posted it here.

It's easy and straightforward. And reversible.

Only on XP. It will automatically default to MSC on other OS's.

I tried to create a .reg file. But after you delete the key, what to export? The entire USB key? That's won't work, as I'm sure we all have different stuff in there, right?
