/me looks at iPod...dies a little inside...reminds self it's time to move on...

Just got done with Bob Sinclar's Western Dream. Nice, easy, happy music - great for working to. And any album with a Country & Western twangy guitar/Filter House fusion track called "Tennessee" (sung by a cowboy no less) gets my vote.

Oh and the Major Nelson podcast...that's 2 hours right there.

My music collection currently has NO Danny Elfman. Any starter suggestions? I don't know what else he's done, but I'm thinking along the lines of movie soundtracks.

Someone suggested the original Batman soundtrack. Good start?

The nightmare before christmas soundtrack is quite good flappy dude...if you can track down the edward scissorhands soundtrack that's pretty fun listening.

I did sound tonight for The Hopefuls (aka The Olympic Hopefuls). One singer used to be lead of Alva Star.

Other than the fact it was FAR TOO LOUD, pretty awesome. Check 'em. Especially you Twin Cities folks.

Thanks to the greedy piggy, I've been pulling down some fun new stuff:

Beatles - Love: Amazon sums it up pretty well. There isn't anything particularly revolutionary, but the songs are just tweaked enough to modernize them. Basically a fun remix. And sonically, the Beatles have never sounded so good on CD.

Steely Dan - Aja: I'm not going to admit I like SD. I'm not going to admit I like SD...

Peter, Bjorn, and John (PB&J) - Haven't given them a real sitdown, but 'Young Folks' is just so goddam catchy!

Oh, and while studying for the GRE, I had Arcade Fire on as background music. I'm actually starting to get it...I think I like them. Without a real listen yet, I CAN say Neon Bible is better than Funeral.
