Subject: Vibez - "Alert! Grace Period"
I get that message every time i start up my Vibez, and it eventually goes away and then works fine - but it's very annoying.

I found an old Rio forum that mentioned it and said it was due to the secure clock not being set and trying to play DRM music. Well i've set the clock on the Vibez and all my MP3s are ripped from CD, so i can't see that it's that.

Anyone know why it happens?

Cheers...

I never had that happen with mine, but I connect it via MSC, not MTP. I prefer to stay as far away from MTP as possible.

MTP and no such problem here and I am using Audio Books with DRM.

So you've never had DRM content on your vibez?

Come on be honest - we won't judge!

Anyway if you really haven't got any DRM content on your player then try deleting ".private\janus" and restarting.

Thanks for the tip nix - yes, i really really don't have any drm content!

Anyway - i can't seem to get to .private on my Vibez - there is the Data and Media folders, but nothing else (even hidden).

Am i looking for it the right way (Windows Explorer) ?

Thanks again...

Happening on mine now, but one of my audio books is about to expire.

So you can't see that pesky ".private" directory. Sorry should have said that you need to use MSC mode to do that.

Peregrine have you had a fully drained battery recently? Or remved the battery? In other words has the internal RTC (Real Time Clock) lost its time.

No. But I believe mine is working as it should. I deleted the AudioBook that was about to expire and I'm not prompted anymore.
