Subject: Last of the Mohicans?
Yesterday I randomly dropped in on Rioworld.org and found the forums have been pulled down. All that's left is a shell of what the site once was.

To me this just underscores the dedication and camaraderie found only at Riovolution.

huh.  interesting.  they always seemed to hate us for some reason... not really sure why.  but I know arspy was active over there, at least for awhile, so they couldn't have all been evil. ;-)
...because I am not a Special Snowflake.

They hated us? I went there early on, never registered since riovolution was more active.

"they" is perhaps too broad.  but there was definitely a subsection of the population over there that rejoiced verily every time "that other site" (meaning .com) got hacked/went down.  they thought we stole stuff from them or something... took credit for things they figured out how to do.  whatever.  anyway, .org ftw.

I used to check all the sites for a while but this one (.com) became the one I went to the most since it seemed to have more activity from the Rio devs which was simultaneously useful and supercool. Of course, there was also nice banter from a good bunch of users which is why I'm still here. Awww, Wiee wub woo wiees, group hug, group hug. Er. Ahem. Sorry, carried away.
Bit the shed again. Typical.

They may have been miffed that many members stopped going to Riowolrd in favor of Riovolution (I did that).  Rioworld's legacy support was superior to Riov.com's, but Riov's Karma support was better than Riow.  Anyway, Rioworld had some good stuff happening, like BigMike's RiotReader, which I haven't been able to find.  Never know when someone might want it...

But I really always thought their hate was stupid.

And another part was the forum got more and more restrictive as Spoon got less active.  The other admin got into some flame wars and made some pretty strict rules; it was obvious he was drunk on power.  The Riow. forums pretty much started to stagnate and rot after that.  Alas.
