Bowling for Soup is here right now.  I, however, had no desire to listen to a lame band that whines about how life is just like high school in a wannabe-punk kinda way.  Blech.  Besides, there's not enough alcohol on campus to make them tolerable.

After listening to public radio incessantly for about a year, I surfed around the dial, and tried listening to a "we play the hits" station.

I came to the conclusion that there are currently only two types of band: yarl (pearl jam) and whine (what you said, kk).

Zero 7 last night at The Plug in Sheffield. Sia was her usual astonishing self, but I have to say that Jose stole the show for me. He did an acoustic version of Crosses (ie more akin to the version on Veneer than the one on The Garden) and it was just magic.

Man am I hungover today though....may have to have a tactical chunder.

Saw Dylan last night, it was kinda fun although it's really not my kind of music. I did prefer him to the support though, who were Jack White's new band. A couple of their songs were good, and the band were obviously talented musicians, but his incessant screaming into a heavily distorted mic hurt my ears.

Good luck. This entire week is astrologically phenomenal, so almost anything that happens will be a *good thing*.
Good week to be born, ftm, and the fact that Vonnegut died when he did is testament to his advanced state.

Well I saw em. Great show, they if you don't know did the theme song to "Perfect Hair Forever" the adult swim show. Which they played live. Also they did a cover of Heart of Glass (Blondie), and Spudboy (DEVO). One of the greatest shows I have ever seen. Not only because the band was awesome but because we enjoyed some alone time with the band when they were cruising the city. Great night, If you are into Thrash I recommend checking out Melt Banana.

Leo Kottke played free in the park amphitheater Sunday. I think he was also the last act I paid to see, and that was back in 1981 or so. Sound system sucked bad, but as the sun set, it continued to improve to about tolerable. He mentioned that the sunset period plays chaos on the sound waves- had a special term for around twilight I'd never heard before, and now I can't recall it......
He has a very engaging and funny "between-tunes" patter about random subjects such as disabling his pinky on a certain "dangerous" song and shelving that one until Al Franken begged him to play it again.
Leo's pushing 60 so he isn't the guitar machine he used to be, nor does he have any desire to be. Just getting through those chord patterns he sets up is still amazing, and it was a great show.
Except for this infinitely annoying bitch and her friend sitting on the stone fence behind us who kept up an offensive chatter the entire show until they got bored and left. But hey, it wasn't like it was the Boston Pops, so no one belted her one- which was really what she wanted. Heroin was invented for people like that, and should be legalized just to keep them quiet.
Old and young, people and dogs, old hippies and undercover cops together again, frisbees and hula-hoops..... hula-hoops?

Just bought tickets for the Voodoo Music Fest in October.  Too many bands to mention.  Looking forward to seeing the reunited Rage, Porcupine Tree, Dr. John, and loads of others.

Saw Daft Punk on Sunday.  Still coming down from it.  Fucking amazing.

Bought my Voodoo 2008 tickets a couple months ago on a whim for the uber-pre-sale.  Well, they released the headliners a couple days ago: 1) STP, 2) NiN, 3) R.E.M., 4) Neville Brothers.  Awesome.
