Subject: Is this the end?
I haven't been here in at least a month. 4 new posts.
In a month...

Is this the end of Riovolution? Am I going to type in Riovolution.org someday and find THE PAGE COULD NOT BE DISPLAYED?
Who owns this site? How is this person still motivated to keep it going? Should we fear the future?

Sadness.........

I own the domain and Einkoro hosts it.  It doesn't take any real effort to maintain the site so it's not going anywhere.

Some of you may remember an epic IRC chat/log post.

Happy Christmas/Holidays to a lot of diehards.

Ah, memories.  That was classic.  If I looked hard enough, I might be able to find the chat log from that night.
You know who’s bitter in America?  I am.  Because shit-kickers voted twice for a retarded guy they wanted to have a beer with and everybody else had to suffer the consequences.

Epic chat log? Damn, what did I miss?!  8-(

And to the OP - yeah, I was wondering the same thing recently. Came back to make at least a post and saw how dead it was. Makes me kinda sad, so many memories back on the old Rio site. No one probably knows my ass, but still!

You guys done good. 5 years after Rio shut their doors, a 64 gig solid state drive is available and affordable, same dimensions as the original 20 gig Hitachi drive.
It's worth finding a fixer-upper and doing this.

My Karma still gets use at bedside.  I wish there were something new and exciting to talk about.

I play around with my Karma now and then. But, that's pretty much the extent of it these days.

I still wish there were a true successor, though. Still, there's nothing. We're all stuck depending on Microsoft or Apple to come up with something great. It's crazy how after almost 8 years, there still isn't a player that can play many codecs, utilize proper crossfade and offer cool visualizations. Seriously.. why?

I'm probably ranting now, but it just seems so odd. Then again, Apple doesn't like adding very many features and Microsoft.. is.. well, Microsoft. Hehe, jk.

Till next time, guys.

Rockboxed devices play many codecs, offer gapless, have a crossfade option, but don't offer cool visualizations. Oh, and the iPod Classic devices are beginning to get supported.

My Karma is my default backup player, many have come and gone but the karma remains a constant, I expect the Sansa Clip+ to join it in semi-permanent archival once I retire that from it's No.1 spot with an iOS or Android handset - most likely the latter running RB.

That said I'm listening to the Karma right now, chilling outside on this sunny spring day.

I hope it's not the end-   I'm just getting started!

A brand new Vibez 12G should be arriving to my doorstep sometime soon!
