Odd. I thought the Seagate 12GB never made it to production:

Yeah, that is odd. I'm guessing a few made it out and TrekStor snatched them up because it seemed like a terrible long-term strategy...

My son has a Sansa Fuze, he rates it but says it is no match for his Vibez.

Not for long...

How could you tell if you have a seagate vs cornice (sp?) drive.

I have a redesigned Vibez.  Mine died early and I sent it back for repair.  It took 4 months, to get the replacement. I had only owned it for 3 months at that time.  When I got the new one it had a new wheel design.  It did not seem to bind quite as much and was just a little smaller than the old vibez.

I wonder if I could have been lucky enough to get the segate version of the Vibez.  That is "IF" they made Seagate Vibez.

Hmmmm.  I just use it for my "work" mp3 player now because I figure it will die soon anyway.

Picture.  OK, I send one, but it may take a day or two.

My wheel is smaller than my original wheel.

I was told by Vibez tech support out of New York that I waited 4 months for my replacement under warranty because they redesigned the vibez wheel.  I hope I have a better hard drive also.

Subject: New 12 GB vibez in hand.
So, as much as I love my Karma, I know its days are numbered (bulging battery syndrome).  On top of that, I've been missing some of the latest improvements of the vibez 1.19 firmware (Thanks, Defector!)

On Wednesday I broke down and ordered a new vibez direct from TrekStor/Datastation in Rockaway, NY.  Paid $197 for it, and it arrived today.

I see no physical differences at all between this and the original (i.e. the wheel is the same size, and it fits perfectly in the docking station).

The vibez came with the original 1.04 firmware, so the first thing I did was put 1.19 on it.  My music library is loading up now.

If interested, sounds like they have a limited supply.  Their contact info is on Trekstor.de under the "Where to buy" menu.

On we

One difference I'm noticing, uploading tracks seems to go noticeably faster.  Since my original vibez is a paperweight, I can't compare, but loading up from scratch was a lot faster than I remember it.

Anyway, definitely a pleasant surprise.

Sorry I have not posted pics.  I cracked a facet joint in my spine.

Anyway, can somebody post an "Idiots Guide" to posting pictures?  I will post when I am not in so much f***ing pain.
