Well, I guess mine is finally done. Not sure what happened. I dropped it from about 4 inches this past weekend, but it was not on, and it was in my Noreve case at the time. I turned it on and got the boot error I would see sometimes, and I was able to get it to start a few times after that, but no more.

I am very sad, but I have decided to move on to a Cowon S9, which should arrive tomorrow.

Good luck to all!

Mine is working perfectly. Great sound. My wife is jealous (she has a Creative Zen). Luckily I bought a couple of extra batteries when Target had them discounted.
The only problem I having now is making it work with Windows 7. Not recognised and no drivers or settings work. It will charge up though.
I am also dreading the day when it does die. I have no idea what I would get (although the Cowon i9 or s9 are both magic)

I use Trekstor Vibez 12gb with any problem. My headphone is Westone 3 :)

... as of today. Fingers crossed. Anyone want to sell their unused/2nd hand batteries? Please get in touch.

Subject: Keep alive watchdog
This forum seems to be stuck in a dead end.
On my side, three 12 GB Vibez still in daily use and healthy, even at cold winter temperatures. The Vibez is still unprecedented in usability and quality.
Stay tough & take care!

Probably there are only very few Vibez' still running, and for those that are, there are no new firmwares or accessoires any more, so there's not much demand for discussion, I guess...

My second Vibez - the first one died with a HDD failure in 2010 - is also still working pretty well and its still in regular use. Its music quality is much, much better than that provided by most smartphones and its usability / playlist management also is, even though it does not have a touch screen - which means that there's still a LOT of room for improvement on the smartphone side which have this big theoretical advantage built in to their hardware...

Nice to hear from another living legend! My first Vibez was bought in June 2007, and its storage element died within one month. The warranty replacement is the one most in use by me - it survived a downfall last October and still is brightening up each working day, not to mention the weekends.

Mine is still running strong.  This one is my second Vibez and one of the small handful of vibezes with the Seagate drive they sold off in 2009.  It's with me in the car every day.
