Subject: Karma dock connector pin-outs?
Hello, people, long time no post.

Now that I've eventually replaced my Karma with a Sansa Fuze (8GB w/16GB uSD card), i'm using my Karma as a juke box in my car. It's mounted on a Brodit dash-mount with the Karma mount salvaged from a spare dock I aquired attached. (I'll post pictures if anyone is interested). At present, it runs from battery power and feeds my head unit via the headphone socket, but I'd like to rig up something more durable for power and line-out. Two options spring to mind:

1. I can use the dock connector from my spare dock and hard wire line-out and power cables. However, I don't have the pin-out details for the Molex connector (does anyone? I'm sure UKRE posted something once) and the dock PCB appears to have some sort of LCR filter arrangement between the Karma and the dock RCA's which may or may not be essential. Does anyone know?

2. I can just utilise the dock PCB hidden behind the dash somewhere, if I can find a longer version of the LIF/ZIF cable which attaches the dock connector to the dock PCB. There are similar ones on eBay up to 25cm long intended for Toshiba 1.8" HDs which are too wide (too many way compared to the Karma one which is 26 way I thnk) but, if the pitch is the same, could be carefully butchered down to size with a scalpel.

Has anyone done anything similar? Any other ideas? Is everyone well?

(I posted this in EE as I presumed it'll still be the most viewed section. I can move it with my amazingly still valid mod priviliges if anyone wants).

Sorry that I can't help, however, I will say this:

HOLY SHIT IT'S FIFER

...And that is all. Luck be to you, sir--I am sure I have seen this information posted as well, so it should only be a matter of time.

Not sure what exactly you're aiming to do? Maybe pics would be helpful.

I have an aux in on my head unit and I'm feeding it from the Karma headphone socket, but I'd like to take the output from the dock port line out pins and send the DC via the dock port too. I'm just running from battery power at the moment, but keep forgetting to charge.

(Yes, I know I need to clean the inside of my car and yes, I'm sorry I forgot about this thread. But any help greatly appreciated. I'm sure one of the Rio guys - UKRE? - posted the dock port pin-outs somewhere).
