I went back to give Chrome another shot, and am liking it much more now than when it first came out. Fast.

I'll take adblock and proper middle-click scrolling behavior, thanks.

(But Chrome is blazingly fast, and I enjoy the out of the box interface.)

I finally put Chrome on a laptop, used it for a few day solid  --at first-- not much since [only when I can grab a WiFi signal or plugin to dsl]...  I can't remember when I've seen so many web-pages cause a browser to totally lock-up.  The speed was really good, but I don't like the trade-off.

I'll consider it a major sign of how much better a company Google is, than MS, if/when adblock comes.  I'm sure that if Yahoo, for example came out with a browser, there'd be no adblock --ever.  (Of course, Yahoo's a totally different deal...)

I run 6 add-ons on Firefox, to make my 56k somewhat tolerable.  I'm tweaking them all the time, looking for better, but sites all seem to have decided that part of "Web 2.0," or whatever, is lots of jingly-jangly bits of flash and other crap.  At last check, Yahoo's little "chat" box on my hotmail, can take 45 minutes to allow me to turn it off ---every time I log in.

Maybe it's just a FF problem, but I'm not going to install Chrome on my desktop, if it's still going to let sites require that I give away 15-50% if my bandwidth, to run a [useless] chain of flash movies (usually something I just have no interest in seeing).

I also have a huge list of custom cookie settings, I've spent time building, and would hate to just abandon.  It would be a big deal for me, if any browser had a "accept cookies only for session, until I say otherwise --for each site," extension.

These two would be of more use to me, in Chrome, than adblock.  I have to admit than more and more ads are going to be flash, and ads will ask to set a dozen cookies  --for just one site-- though.

I'm no more tolerant of IExplorer.  I tried 7, and decided it's best feature was that it could be uninstalled, and have not looked back since, or tried 8...

Oh, and for those of you, whos reaction to my 56k is "well, just get broadband..."  http://stopthecap.com/2009/06/04/minnesota-court-rules-bro…

It's not my town, my state, or my ISP... but it's the same pricing offered to me ---my town is 1/3 of the size of the one in the article [ & 3 times as far away from the nearest "metropolitan area"], so there's no chance of the city ever putting in fiber.  I've begun to think I'll be driving a flying car, before 20 Mbps broadband is available here, short of some resident winning the lottery and setting up their own ISP...

Chrome > Firefox > Safari > IE

I use Chrome and Firefox on a daily basis at work, Chrome for 90% of my browsing and Firefox for web development; and a little IE6 thrown in to test compatibility (yes, the firm still uses that antiquated piece of shit). Firefox is great for addons (greasemonkey + webdeveloper + firebug = omg best web development environment ever!), but Chrome is preferable for general browsing. It rarely crashes, runs fast and loads instantly.

Safari (on Mac, I don't even count the Windows version) is quite nice but doesn't feel as fast as Chrome - and I'm not really a fan of Firefox on Mac.
everyday is another shooter.
