I'm surprised to see in the discount bin an unopened Rio Chiba 128MB for 75% off. Should I pick it up? It'll only be  about 37 bucks.

Personally, I'd say no --unless you really like the squeaky clean smell that much, or want the collectible(s).

I picked up 6 Forge 256s and a broken Karma, all returned to some store for $60--the Forges all just needed a firmware update.

You (or anyone here) can buy the best of them off of me (with USB cord), for $15, if you like.

Of course, that's without a dinky mem card, the carrying do-hickey and strap...

I don't mean it as a come-on, or anything.  I just think $37 sounds steep.
Dude!  There's no WAY that's your daughter's favorite song!
oh, uh-oh --wait, wait... Is she in a coma???

If you're a Rio completist and want it to hang on the wall, go right ahead. But if you want it to use as a player, US$37 is overpriced by a factor of maybe ten. You can get 4Gbyte players brand new for that kind of money, though of course I can't speak to whether the software is any good on today's ones.

I gave a way a Chiba... but DOH! Never sent it to the guy. I will check with him if he still wants it. If not, you can have it.

I want the Chiba probably so I can collect it. I just feel sorry for the little Chiba(s), I wonder if they're still in the discount bin all alone? Then again, $37 is a bit too much. Last year I picked up a pretty nice looking Rio CE2100. Now I used that one for sure and it was cool of course. Anyway, if it were a Karma instead of a Chiba, then I'd get one in a heartbeat!  :-D
