I'm very tempted to get this. It's perfect for someone like me without a lot of time, because you can spend as much or as little time as you want on it, and it's just as good! It wouldn't consume my life at all...

I always thought that the DS was the perfect platform for AC, and I still think it's great to be able to take my town on-the-go; however, after playing this in full 16:9 on my 60" TV, I'm totally enthralled.

I didn't realize until Sunday how much I miss AC on an actual TV, since it's been about 5 years since I played the GCN version.

This version really does pack a lot of new features into the genre, despite the tepid reviews stating the contrary.  I think Nintendo did a good job of adding new, appetizing features without changing too much.  Remember, the appeal of this game is the laid-back attitude of taking your time to just enjoy the game.  It's not crash-grinding in Lich King to be the first to 80.

Arggh!  Need fruit!  I'm assuming not many here own a Wii, or those who do are tight on money during the busiest videogame month of all time.

I've gotta be retarded because I can't find the mayor to get Nook to stfu about visiting him. I've talked to him IN the town hall but he says I should visit him in the square in front of the town hall. I've wandered all over the town and he isn't anywhere.

Edit: Nurr, there was one neighbor I hadn't met yet. Dumb!

I have a WiiFit, and I must say that, as an exercise tool, it kicks ass.  The exercises are EXTREMELY deep, and really do help you target specific areas (Yoga, Strength Training, and Aerobics; each with about 20 different exercises that target different parts of the body).

What's nice is that the board can sense quite a lot of your positions.  When practicing lunges, for instance, it can tell which foot you're leaning the most on, and then give you more reps to that specific foot, because you've shown it's your weaker leg.

It also keeps track of your progress, and does a periodic BMI, Weight, Balance, and Strength test to show you how much you've improved.  It also lets you set BMI and Weight goals that it tracks for you, as well.

As a toy, the packed-in games are fun, but of a WiiSports variety.  Parties will be its most use.

I just finished reading all the reviews for Shaun White's Snowboarding title, which makes extensive use of the Balance Board, and they were all glowing.  So, I may have to pick that one up.

Also, Lyco, could you post your Friend Code info?  I've got an orange now, but still trying to track down all other fruits.

I'm interested, how does the strength training work? Is it mostly body-weight resistance, or does it come with weights?

Sure Poet. Next time I turn on the Wii I'll be setting up my wifi again.

Also, fuck Nintendo. You shouldn't have to get a 2890 digit long code from me for every game and share a code with everyone I wanna play with. Get with the times Nintendo - nobody's gonna get raped.

Thanks Poet. We have been reading reviews -n- stuff to see if it's worth it. I forward'ed your 'review' to my wife.
Her reply:

Can you ask if it is difficult to move from one exercise to another?  Some of the reviews I read said it was annoying because you had to stop frequently and navigate though several menus.  That is my real concern.  You know I will get frustrated if I have to stop every 5 minutes to navigate a menu. Otherwise this sounds good.

It's all body-weight.  Lunges, push-ups, crunches, etc.  But, it did introduce me to about 6-8 new exercises I've never heard of before; and it monitors whether or not I'm doing them correctly (ie, putting more weight on my feet, which are on the board, when I do crunches vs. using my abs to pull up).

Peregrine: There is navigation required, but really, you're probably going to warm-up with Yoga, then move to strength or aerobics.  You're probably not going to go in between those.  You choose your subject, let's say Yoga, then you click on the exercise you want to do.  When you finish that exercise, it kicks you back to the Yoga screen, and you choose the next one.

When you want to go to another subject, you simply hit return icon, and go to Strength Training, and get a full list of exercises.

I'd say in a 15minute work-out, you spend about 1 minute all together navigating the exercise menus.

Lyco: As for Friends Codes...I'm okay with having one for my SYSTEM, but a unique one for Mario Kart, Brawl, and AC?  That's ridiculous.  That being said, doesn't seem to have hurt Nintendo's dominance in the market.

Poet: I agree - one per console isn't a problem, one per game is. But then again when you have a huge effing library of games like the Wii does and you can only name 3 or 4 that have online functionality, that's pretty sad.
