Subject: Rio Forge: ""Insufficient memory for database creation..."
From the old site:

Quote by warp11:
Sometimes after I load songs onto my Rio Forge via RMM, I get an error message on my Forge that states "Insufficient memory for database creation...would you like to delete some songs?" If I let it delete a song, then everything is fine.

It seems to me that RMM is loading one too many songs into the internal memory and not leaving the necessary room for the database to be created.

I've loaded the latest firmware and am using RMM v2.90. I hope that they can get this fixed in the next release of the software.

Other than this one small problem, this has been a great player. I even find the FM tuner to be fine.

Normally, this only happens if you format, and don't boot the unit up before transferring. IF you format the player, start it up first. Then, plug it back in and connect it to the computer, and transfer tracks.

...

This can technically happen with any of the mass storage players. When you format, the database is blown away. If you boot the unit up first, then the database gets build with a default amount of space. Any subsequent addition of content grows the database, which doesn't take up much space. But, when content is dumped on before database creation, you can run into this if you fill the unit almost to capacity, less than a couple mb free.

...because I am not a Special Snowflake.
